"I have mold growing on the ceiling and walls of my house. Ive heard horror stories about moldy houses in the newspaper. Should I call a mold tester or a remediator?"
If you see or smell it, then youve got it you may not need a tester or remediator to tell you what you already know. (It doesnt really matter what kind of mold you have either.) If youve got it, then get rid of it. Remediation contractors will get rid of it, but I will help you to change the moisture conditions of your house so that the mold does not come back. Finding out the solution to the moisture problem should be first on your agenda. If you skip this important step, then you may have repeat mold problems down the road. I will diagnose the whole house and see how the temperature, relative humidity, and ventilation work against each other and allow too much moisture to build up in the house. I will also be able to locate wet areas of the house that you may not see: behind the drywall, up in the attic, in the crawl space and I will offer solutions to stop that moisture build-up.
